But it is often a time to reassess:
Where does this feel hardest right now?
What’s changed in my capacity?
What support do I need so I can keep doing the things my body actually needs?
Because the goal isn’t to stop training.
It’s to keep building:
✔ strength
✔ energy
✔ bone health
✔ long-term function
– just in a way that matches the season you’re in.
This week I worked with three women in their 50s.
Same life stage.
Completely different strategy.
💛For one, the most productive thing we could do was slow everything down – slow strolls, lower intensity strength work and what we jokingly called intentional slobbing down so her energy and recovery could catch up.
💛 For another, we realised she had the capacity for more intensity – so we looked at how to reintroduce sprint interval training into her week.
💛And for the third, we built a program that prioritised confidence and consistency, working around joint injuries and tendon niggles while still progressing her strength.
That’s the shift.
Not “what’s the best program for menopause?”
But:
✨ what’s the current challenge?
✨ what’s the smartest support?
So you can keep training in a way that works for your body and your life.
