Have you noticed how much talk there is about fixing our relationship with food lately? And don’t get me wrong—it’s an important conversation. But what about our relationship with exercise?

So many women have a complicated, messy relationship with movement. It’s often full of guilt and shame, so tightly tied to how our bodies look or our sense of self-worth.

I’ve worked as a physio with thousands of women over almost 20 years, and I’ve seen that a positive relationship with exercise has *nothing* to do with how disciplined or motivated you appear.

Instead, the common thread in women who have a positive relationship with exercise seems to be that they see movement as part of their lifestyle.

They adapt to what their body needs without judgement, show themselves compassion when life gets messy, and find ways to enjoy movement that feel sustainable for them.

That’s exactly why I created the Everyday Glow Challenge. It’s a free 7-day program starting on 20th January where I’ll walk you through my 3-step SHE Glows framework for making exercise feel like something you want to do—not just something you “should” do.

No equipment, no guilt—just small, simple steps toward enjoying movement as part of your life.

If this sounds like what you need, check out the link in my bio to join us. It’s the perfect starting point for building a healthier, happier relationship with exercise!

Let’s start with what it isn’t

  • Using exercise as a punishment or a way to “earn” food
  • Superhuman levels of self-motivation
  • Endless time to work out
  • Pushing themselves to the limit every day
  • Feeling guilty or ashamed when they miss a workout

Now, here’s what it is

  • Enjoying movement that feels good and aligns with their interests
  • Knowing they’ll always feel better afterward, even if they don’t feel like it at first (and not always feeling like it is normal!)
  • Adapting their movement to what their body needs at different stages of life
  • Showing self-compassion when they fall off track (also normal) – and knowing how to reset without guilt

Here’s the truth

  • No program will stick until you fix your relationship with exercise
  • And the most common thread among women who have?
  • They see movement as a positive part of their lives, not a punishment

Fixing your relationship with exercise isn’t about perfection, motivation, or doing more – it’s about seeing movement as a way to feel good in your body and your life.
