I’ve come to realise that the same words, coming out of two different mouths, can sound completely different.
You might come to me for advice on pain or guidance on exercise, but I may not always be the person you need to hear the message from. Especially when it comes to routines and healthy habits.
I’ve been in the health and fitness space for years.
I’m a physio.
I strength train every day.
And I get that sometimes, that can feel like… well, not you.
Maybe you’ve never really felt like “an exercise person.”
Maybe you’ve tried to start before, and dropped off.
Maybe it’s been so long, you can’t imagine where consistency would even fit in.
That’s exactly why I’ve started sharing more of these conversations.
Because when you hear it from someone who isn’t a trainer, or a physio, or a 20-something fitness influencer- it just lands differently.
This week on the podcast, I’m sharing a chat with Em, a GLOW10 member who used to hate exercise.
She didn’t start from motivation.
She started from fatigue.
And she didn’t overhaul her life overnight; she just started showing up in tiny, consistent ways.
Here are a few things she said that really stuck with me:
➡️ “I just didn’t want to feel like that anymore. So I pressed play, and my whole day shifted.”
➡️ “Getting older doesn’t mean I have to feel old.”
➡️ “I realised it’s not about doing it perfectly. It’s about showing up when I can, and feeling proud of that.”
If you’ve been stuck in the headspace of “I’m not that kind of person,” this episode is for you. (And it’s only 15 minutes long….are you sensing a theme in the kind of things I put out into the world?)
