“Is it the world that’s busy? Or is it my mind?” – I saw this in a book recently and it resonated.

Anyone else feeling like life is just a little outta control right now ๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™€๏ธ

Maybe itโ€™s time we stop blaming our busy-ness on all of the things we have to do (many of them being things weโ€™ve given ourselves) and start looking for ways to allow ourselves more rest?

And Iโ€™m not talking day spas and sleep-ins (although they both sound goooood).

Iโ€™m talking ALL and ANY of the different types of rest described in the book โ€˜Sacred Restโ€™ by S Dalton-Smith.

๐Ÿ’ฎ Physical Rest: The chance to use the body in restorative ways to decrease muscle tension, reduce headaches, and promote higher quality sleep.

๐Ÿ’ฎ Mental Rest: The ability to quiet cerebral chatter and focus on things that matter.

๐Ÿ’ฎ Spiritual Rest: The capacity to experience God in all things and recline in the knowledge of the Holy.

๐Ÿ’ฎ Emotional Rest: The freedom to authentically express feelings and eliminate people-pleasing behaviours.

๐Ÿ’ฎ Social Rest: The wisdom to recognise relationships that revive from ones that exhaust and how to limit exposure to toxic people.

๐Ÿ’ฎ Sensory Rest: The opportunity to downgrade the endless onslaught of sensory input received from electronics, fragrances, and background noise.

๐Ÿ’ฎ Creative Rest: The experience of allowing beauty to inspire awe and liberate wonder.
