I finally did it.

I got my husband in the gym 👏

As a builder, he’s physically active every day, but he’s never been a gym guy.

About 10 days ago, he turned to me and said…he wanted to start.

I’ve written a lot of training programs in my time, but you would be shocked at how fast I whipped this one up. I did it inside my GLOW App so it’s very pretty of course 🤩 – daily workouts, progress tracking, recipes for the week, the whole shebang. The poor guy didn’t know what he’d started.

After just one week, somewhere in between the muscle soreness and moving in new ways, he casually said:

“Actually, my lower back’s been so much better this week.”

I didn’t say ‘I told you so’ (I know, incredible restraint), but I did do a little silent happy dance in my head.

Because honestly, this is one of the things I love most about strength training.

Sure, I love all the long-term benefits—better bone health, more muscle, improved metabolic and cognitive function. But as a physio, what really lights me up is this:

The way your body can start to feel better almost immediately.

Not in 12 weeks.
Not once you’ve “gotten strong.”
But now.

I see it all the time in clinic, inside GLOW10, and in the messages you send me.

Women telling me:

  • “My neck hasn’t hurt all week.”
  • “My knees don’t niggle walking up stairs anymore.”
  • “My back’s stopped aching in the morning.”

These stories don’t surprise me anymore, but they still make my day.

There are countless studies showing strength training helps reduce pain over time, but I’m far more interested in the changes that happen in the first week.
Those are the ones no one talks about.

Because it’s not magic- It’s just the variety of movement, done consistently, with a bit of load. But it’s still pretty cool…

🎧 So I recorded a short podcast episode about why strength training can help—even if you’ve got pain now, and even if you’ve been too nervous to try it.
