Recently, I did something I’ve wanted to do for ages.

I got my colours done! 🌈

If you don’t remember your mum doing this in the 80s – or haven’t fallen down the rabbit hole yourself – here’s the gist:

A colour analyst holds up fabric swatches to your face to figure out which tones best suit your skin, hair, and eyes. (That’s my very un-expert explanation)

Anyway, I went in curious. But also quietly confident I already knew my colours.
ChatGPT even agreed with me.

Turns out… we were both totally wrong.

The colours I’d been choosing were fine.
They worked okay.
But there were way better ones – the ones that softened my face, brought out my features, and made me look more…me.

And the thing is, I just never would’ve found them on my own (I mean, I did try!)

And it’s not because I’m not observant.
It’s not because I don’t know myself.
It’s because I was looking at myself through a blurry lens.

And that was the reminder I didn’t know I needed.

👉 Taking the time to learn more about ourselves always pays off.

Even when it’s uncomfortable.
Even when it proves us wrong.
Even when we thought we already knew.

This is why, when I work with women, either in person or online, we don’t start with the plan.

We start with you.

Because knowing yourself – really knowing yourself – is the foundation for real, sustainable change.

Whether it’s:
✔️ Learning how to train in a way that supports your real life, not just your ideal one
✔️ Understanding what your body needs to get stronger – not just feel busy
✔️ Knowing when to push and when to pull back (without guilt)
✔️ Figuring out the systems and cues that help you follow through (even when life is messy)
✔️ Matching your exercise plan to your personality, your values, and your current season – not your past self

…these are the things that make the biggest difference.

Sure, you can get by without doing any of it.
Just like I was doing fine in my cool summer palette.

But wouldn’t it feel better – stronger, simpler, more energised – if your exercise plan worked with your body, your values, your personality and preferences?

That’s the magic.

So now I’m curious :
👉 When’s the last time you learned something surprising about yourself?
Hit reply and tell me. I’d love to hear.

P.S.
Fun little tip from my colour analysis that’s stuck with me:
If someone compliments the outfit instead of you in it… it’s probably the colour doing all the work.
The right fit – for your tones, your value & your intensity – makes you the main event. And that’s exactly what I aim for in every exercise & rehab plan I create!
