You’re not failing. You’re stuck in the wrong loop.

Missing a workout doesn’t mean you’ve failed.

But if your brain turns that miss into guilt… shame… and giving up?

That’s the guilt loop—and it’s what’s really keeping you from staying consistent.
Let’s rewire it.

Here’s how to switch from the guilt loop to the habit loop—so movement actually becomes part of your life:

1. Reduce friction.
Make it as easy as possible to start. Think: workout clothes ready, short sessions, zero prep.

2. Set a cue.
Link your workout to something you already do—like after your morning coffee or once the kids leave for school.

3. Start tiny.
Don’t wait for a 45-minute window. Begin with 5-10 minutes—just enough to feel proud and show your brain: “I can do this.”

4. Celebrate.
Seriously. Take a second to acknowledge that you showed up. That’s how the loop locks in.

The more often you complete the loop, the easier it gets to keep going.

This is why I’m such a fan of making exercise a daily routine rather than a sometimes event and it’s also why it’s the basis of my GLOW10 Tribe strength training program.
