Our weeks van be jam packed, especially at this time of the year. Here are 7 things to do on a Sunday to set yourself up for the best possible week ahead:
- Plan and prep food
Planning and prepping our food for the week makes a massive difference to how well we all eat and how much money we spend on food, I like to:
– Plan or family meals, based on prep time and which days are busier
– Plan and prep a few of my own brekkies and lunches to make sure I’m getting enough protein and fibre in
– Do an online shop based on meals for click and collect or delivery. - Fill out our week on the family whiteboard
we have a family whiteboard that sits in the kitchen, On a Sunday, I pull up my family online calendar and transfer all of the important things onto the whiteboard:
– kids activities
– who is picking up who
– family meals - Fill out my own week on a page
I have a “week on a page” printable which i print off every Sunday and fill out for the week. It helps me get clear on:
– how I want to feel this week
– what my top 3 priorities are
– which projects I’m focused on - Schedule my exercise
Planning out my exercise for the week and scheduling it in as if it were an appointment gives me a WAY better chance of getting it in. I make sure my husband knows if I need him onboard on certain days so I can get an early morning session in. I also like to think about potential obstacles that might pop up and what my plan B might be. - Move my body
the weekend binge trap is real, and i find maintaining some consistency on the weekend helps to take the pressure off being “perfect’ during the week. It can also be a bit of a hack to “start’ the week on Sunday so that you hit the ground running on Monday. - Tidy my personal space
look, an entire house clean is great, but if I can at least give my work space and bedroom a declutter, I go into the week with a clearer mind as well. - Get an early(ish) night
As much as I find myself clinging to the last of me free time on a Sunday evening, I KNOW that getting enough sleep improves my energy and motivation for the week ahead. Nothing good comes from sleep deprivation, and whilst i can’t control everything, I can:
– eat an earlier dinner
– stop screens an hour before bed
– charge my phone in a different room
– decide what time I get into bed
