If you’re just starting out, here’s what I wish someone had told me years ago:

1️⃣ **Bodyweight is a brilliant start.**
You don’t need dumbbells on day one. Squats, lunges, push-ups, and step-ups count are all great moves to master and can be very challenging without weights.

2️⃣ **You don’t need a gym.**
You can get by with a very small amount of equipment (and a touch of resourcefulness) for a long time.

3️⃣ **Strength training is a learnable skill.**
It’s not something only the “experts” know. You can learn, you can practice, and you can get better.

4️⃣ **You won’t get bulky.**
But your body composition will change. As will your energy and confidence in your body.

5️⃣ **It can actually help your pelvic floor.**
With good lifting technique and the right load, strength training conditions your core + pelvic floor to *support* you, not work against you.

6️⃣ **It can reduce pain.**
Joints, tendons, and backs often feel better with the right kind of loading and getting the variety they crave.

7️⃣ **Consistency > intensity.**
It’s not about smashing yourself and being sore for days. Real (and sustainable) progress comes from showing up regularly with intention.

If this list makes you think “okay, maybe I *can* do this” — then you’re exactly who I had in mind when I made it. 💛
