I’m 42 now.
And there are things about aging that I’ve quietly started to accept.
Like wrinkles.
I’d love to say I embrace every wrinkle (and every grey hair) because they tell a story… but that might be a stretch.
I have stopped acting like they’re some shocking surprise, though.
Because they’re not a sign that anything has gone wrong.
They’re just a sign I’ve lived long enough to have a face that’s lived.
Even when we do things to help ourselves feel better about them – skincare, treatments, injectables, whatever your thing is – it’s not because we think it “stops aging”.
It’s because we want to feel good in our skin.
To support ourselves as things shift.
To keep confidence intact as the mirror changes.
We accept aging is happening… and then we decide how we want to move through it.
And this is exactly the mindset shift most women need when it comes to back and neck pain.
Because here’s the cold hard truth:
Your spine ages too.
Discs dry out.
Joints stiffen.
Tolerance changes.
That doesn’t mean your spine is broken.
It doesn’t mean you’re fragile.
It just means your spine is… a normal spine in a normal body that’s been alive for a while.
When we treat these changes like something we need to “fix”…
When we keep asking:
→ Why is this happening?
→ When will it stop?
→ What did I do wrong?
…it can do your head in.
But when we shift the goal – from trying to reverse aging to learning how to support it – everything changes.
You stop spiralling.
You start building a toolkit.
And that toolkit gives you:
✅ fewer flare-ups
✅ faster recovery
✅ more confidence using your body
✅ less fear around movement
Much like wrinkles, it’s not about one magic thing.
It’s about consistent support over time.
In this week’s podcast episode, I unpack this whole idea properly, including:
→ how to tell the difference between acute vs recurring / persistent pain (because they are definitely different!)
→ why “bad posture” isn’t the real issue (but unchanging posture is)
→ what spines actually love (and what makes them cranky)
→ and how regular strength-based movement is one of the best foundations for a happier spine
