I came across a photo the other day. Me, holding my second baby and almost 2 year old. Sleep-deprived but content in that newborn bubble of chaos and love.

What I didn’t know then was that just four months later (and almost 10 years ago to the date!) I’d start a business that would go on to shape my entire life.

At the time, I just knew I didn’t want to go back to working in a clinic. I wanted to make something of my own, that gave me flexibility but also freedom to make of it what I wanted. I wasn’t thinking about building an empire. I didn’t have a five-year plan.

All I had was an idea, a deep desire to support women, and a boot full of physio gear.

This week in clinic, I was chatting with a mum who told me she’d been thinking about starting a business of her own. She had so many ideas, but was already overwhelmed with all the things she thought she should do—trademarks, websites, business plans.

And I was sharing my experience, I was reminded of this:

We don’t need to know what it will become. We just have to know our next step.

When I started GLOW I had no idea what it would grow into.

It began as a mobile-only service for women, with the goal of replacing my government paid parental leave (minimum wage at the time- so it didn’t take long to validate my idea).

Over time, it’s allowed me to:
✨ Help support our family while raising three young boys
✨ Move from Brisbane back to the Gold Coast without needing to find a new job
✨ Support women in building strength through group classes, first in a church hall and now in my home studio
✨ Help almost a thousand women—aged from 10 to 82—get out of pain and feel stronger in their bodies
✨ Get creative with writing, content, and sharing messages that matter
✨ Run workshops, retreats, and an online membership that brings women together in a different, more connected way

But I couldn’t have planned any of that.

In fact, back then, I thought I’d end up with a team of mobile physios or a big womens health clinic. Turns out, I didn’t want that at all.

The magic came from showing up, doing what was in front of me, and following what felt right.

Whether we talking about getting back into movement, or starting anything that matters to us, so often we overthink.

We try to plan it all. We get stuck in “perfect.”

But the truth is, done is better than perfectly planned. And minimum viable is the gateway to momentum.

You don’t need the whole plan. You just need your next step.

So I’ll leave you to reflect for a moment on this:

👉 What’s something you’ve been thinking about starting… but haven’t?
👉 What would it look like to break it down into its simplest form?
👉 What’s one micro action you could take this week?

Hit reply and tell me. I’d genuinely love to hear.
