We talk a lot about “showing up.”
But we rarely talk about how much you actually have to give, and what counts as ‘enough’.
Here’s something I hear all the time:
“I won’t push myself if I’m not in a class or with a trainer.”
And I get it. It’s also likely true.
But we’re also conditioned to think that unless it hurts, sweats, or breaks us open, it doesn’t count.
And the very thought of something hurting or feeling hard can be enough to stop us from doing it in the first place.
So here’s the reframe:
- What if pushing isn’t the point?
- What if meeting yourself is?
There are days you’ve got 100%. You move with ease. You tick the boxes. You feel it all click.
And there are days you’ve got 50%. Or 30%. Or barely a thread.
On those days, if you give 50% — you’re still giving 100% of what you’ve got.
That’s not slacking. That’s wisdom.
That’s consistency that actually lasts.
This is how I’ve built a sustainable movement identity.
Not by forcing intensity. But by respecting my reality.
- You don’t need perfect energy.
- You don’t need someone yelling at you.
- You just need honest effort, and to build the trust in yourself that you know how to meet your body where it is at.
