Weird things I do to make strength training happen when I genuinely have no time or headspace left.

🌟 I follow my own program (GLOW10 Level 3). It’s planned ahead of time, every session, so I’m not making a single decision on the day.

🌟 I check the workout the night before so I know exactly what I’m walking into. Somehow that alone preps me before I’ve even started.

🌟 I give myself a deadline. I’ve worked out I don’t respond reliably to a cue, but I respond very reliably to time running out.

🌟 I split my session across the day if I have to. If I’ve only got 10 minutes right now, I’ll do the first block. The second block happens whenever the next gap appears.

🌟 I make a coffee for my workout. It’s a small thing, but it turns it into a bit of me time instead of one more task.

🌟 I save a podcast I genuinely love, the guilty pleasure kind, only for when I’m training. It’s become its own little incentive.

🌟 I plan my sessions for when the kids aren’t around. I love the idea of working out with the kids, and I’ve done it before when it works, but the truth is- I know task transitions are hard for me, and being interrupted mid-session makes the whole thing feel ten times more frustrating than it needs to be.

None of these are rules. They’re just what I’ve worked out actually works for me.

There’s more than one way to do every single one of these. The point isn’t to copy my list. It’s to get curious about your own limitations, and build around them instead of pretending they’re not there.

What’s yours?
