We all romanticise what we’d do if we just had some time to ourselves.

We picture the workouts, the self-care, the calm mornings, the “new routine.”

But when that time finally comes, what do we do?
We fold laundry, start dinner, clean the kitchen… ‘because if we don’t, no one will.’
Or we collapse in a heap because we’re touched out, tired, and done.

And none of that means you’re lazy or unmotivated – it means you’ve got friction.
Little blocks that quietly stop you from following through, even when you want to.

In a coaching call this week, we unpacked some of those hidden friction points:
• Thinking it needed to be uninterrupted time (but the kids are always there)
• Wanting the space tidy or “set up” before starting
• Worry that she won’t remember how to use the app or what to do
• fearing the physical discomfort of getting back into exercise

Once she said them out loud, it was so obvious what had been getting in the way.

It wasn’t one thing, it was lots of little things.

And these kinds of things can keep you “start-stuck” for months.

The first step is just getting real about what your friction points are — without shame, guilt, or the “I should be more motivated” story.
