When I talk about body composition, people often ask: “Okay, but how do you actually measure it?”

For me, it’s through a body composition scan (DEXA is one of the most accurate options). I had mine done recently, and my plan is to check in every 1-2 years – not to obsess over numbers, but to make sure the work I’m doing is protecting my muscle and bone.

Because here’s what I’m seeing every week in clinic:
👉 Women in their 50s – with no “genetic risk factors” – being diagnosed with osteopenia.
👉 Women who only realise how much strength they’ve lost when suddenly they can’t do something they’ve always been able to do.

That’s why I care less about the scales, and more about what my body is made of.
Muscle and bone are invisible… until they’re gone.

The good news? We can do something about it.
✨ Strength training
✨ Enough protein
✨ Smart recovery
…these aren’t just “fitness tips.” They’re the foundations of long-term health.
