For years, I tried to help my son understand why movement is important. Born with low muscle tone, he’s faced extra challenges finding movement he enjoys.

I’ve explained. I’ve encouraged. I’ve modelled.

And none of it has worked. Because no matter how much I believe in movement and want him to as well, my reasons weren’t enough.

But today was different. He asked to try the bench press.

He chose to challenge himself with 5 reps.

And when he finished, the look on his face said it all: pride, accomplishment, joy.

I think he’s found his WHY. And when you find your WHY, it drives you in ways no one else can.

Want to find your WHY? Start here:

1️⃣ What do you really want from exercise? Not just “more strength” or “more energy”—why do you want more strength/energy? What will it allow you to do?

2️⃣ What’s something you’d feel incredibly proud of doing? A goal, a milestone, a feeling?

3️⃣ What’s one thing you want to be able to say about yourself in the future because you committed to this journey?

Remember, your WHY isn’t about what someone else wants for you. It’s about what you want for yourself.
