The 3 biggest myths About strength training (and why they’re holding women back)
There are lots of reasons women are unsure about strength training. But these three misconceptions are the most common ones I hear in the women I work with. So come with me as we clear them up…
Myth #1: You’ll get bulky.
The truth? Getting “bulky” takes a lot of focused effort, specific training, and nutritional strategies. Building noticeable muscle size is something most women who achieve it are incredibly proud of- it’s not something that happens by accident. For most of us, strength training builds lean, toned muscle that makes us feel stronger and more confident in our bodies.
Myth #2: You need hours at the gym.
Not true! Just 10 well programmed, intentional minutes a day is enough to build momentum and see results over time. Consistency beats long, unsustainable workouts any day of the week.
Myth #3: Strength training isn’t for women “like me.” (i.e I’m too old, unfit, weak)
Strength training is for every woman- whether you’re just getting started, want to feel stronger, or are looking to support your body through life’s seasons. It’s the ultimate tool for resilience, energy, and confidence.
Don’t let these myths hold you back. Strength training is for you, exactly as you are, and it’s one of the best things you can do for your body and mind. 💪
